Plant Giveaway 2022 Pick up on October 8 from 9am – noon

Residents will receive a reminder email prior to October 8 for pick-up.  Pick up is Saturday, October 8, from 9am – noon.  If you cannot make the pick-up timeframe, you may have someone come and get the plants for you.  Unfortunately, the Village Office cannot hold plants for our residents.  Thanks to our residents who signed up and the popularity of the giveaway, the Village is considering having another next year.  We reached our giveaway limit within a couple of weeks.  Please keep reading our newsletter and watch our social media sites for future Plant giveaway events.

The Village has teamed up with Howard County EcoWorks to supply native plants and bulbs for our residents.  Howard County EcoWorks will have a limited amount of plants for sale while residents pick-up plants.  Please support Howard County EcoWorks. We aren’t certain what plants will be available, but you may visit their website to view a sampling of their native plants and approximate pricing.

University of Maryland Extension of Howard County – Master Gardener will be available to answer questions.  Who are Master Gardeners?  This is from their website.

Howard County Master Gardeners are volunteers, trained by the university, who provide horticultural education services to individuals, groups, and communities including government agencies, neighborhood associations, non-profit organizations, historic sites, schools and youth groups, senior citizens and garden clubs. Master Gardener programs and services are available free of charge to all Howard County residents and community groups. “

The Dorsey Hall Garden Club will be available to answer questions also.  Interested in gardening?  Consider joining the Garden Club. Just a little blurb about them.

“The Dorsey Hall Garden Club meets monthly. Our Club is dedicated to encouraging the love of gardening
and promoting positive horticultural practices and conservation through education of its members and the
broader community. Visit us on Facebook. New members are welcomed. Please email Karen Griffith at

We look forward to seeing our residents Saturday, October 8 from 9am – noon.  Residents who were unable to receive plants this year are welcome to purchase plants that are for sale, ask a Master Gardener, or speak with representatives from the Dorsey Hall Garden Club.  This is a great opportunity for all of our residents!

IMPORTANT****   ALL plants and bulbs must be picked up on October 8, 2022 between 9am – noon.  We do not have the capability to hold plants for pick up on a later date.  Please plan accordingly.
